KEVIN SMITH, Vice-Chair

Kevin was raised in a small town in Northern Ontario. It was during his formative years working in the family run business he learned to understand and appreciate the importance of community. Kevin attended Cambrian College in Sudbury and achieved his Business Administration Diploma.

After graduation Kevin started his career with Home Depot. Kevin began his 13-year career with Home Depot in Woodbridge. During his tenure at Home Depot Kevin became the youngest General Manager, opening the Sault Ste. Marie location. Kevin made the move to Canadian Tire franchisee owner in 2008. He and his wife Natalie purchased their first store in Cochrane, Ontario. This started the journey with Canadian Tire that would take their family to Cape Breton Island, Vancouver Island and finally settling in Muskoka.

Kevin has been a Board Member with the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation since 2017, and currently sits as Vice Chair. Kevin continues to support SMMH and the Foundation through volunteering, fundraising, donating and advocating for South Muskoka. Kevin will often reiterate to others “We need to support our local south Muskoka hospital and the staff. The healthier our hospital, the healthier our community is. The hospital and staff are always there when we need them. Now it’s our turn to be there for them.”

In his time away from Canadian Tire Kevin enjoys spending his time motorcycling, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He can be spotted at the horse barn with his daughter or captaining the boat for water sports.
