*Please share and help us get the word out* The South Muskoka Hospital Foundation is launching an urgent appeal to year-round and seasonal residents for additional funds in the face of the anticipated arrival of COVID-19 patients to the hospital. Currently, the hospital is well-positioned for the initial influx of patients, but that situation could quickly change as the coronavirus runs its course. The Emergency Fund will be used to acquire equipment and supplies related to the pandemic, including three new ICU beds at a cost of $45,000 each that have just been ordered. “We don’t know what’s coming down the pipeline, but we don’t want money to be an issue” says the Foundation’s Executive Director Colin Miller, “so if the hospital needs something and we have money in the bank, we can buy it right away.” Miller was quick to point out that many seasonal residents are already back in Muskoka which will place added pressure on hospital resources. Donations of any amount are welcomed and can be given online at www.healthmuskoka.ca/donate or by mailing a cheque to 75 Ann St., Bracebridge, Ontario, P1L 2E4, or over the phone by calling (705) 645-4404 x 3193 and leaving your phone number. Please do not come to the hospital to donate as foundation staff are working from home. Timing is important to ensure timely acquisition of this equipment. Please share this message on all your social media platforms and by calling a friend.

As the Covid 19 situation continues to evolve, South Muskoka Hospital Foundation is committed to keeping you and your families safe and informed. As we continue moving forward with our mission, we all believe that the health and well-being of every individual person has to be the priority during these difficult times. To this end, we have closed our office site within the hospital to ensure traffic at the hospital is essential to health care staff only. Our team is continuing their work offsite and team members are available through their regular phone and email addresses. If you would like to make a donation, please don’t come to the hospital. Instead - call us and we will come to you! And as always, you can continue to make your donation online at www.healthmuskoka.ca or by sending your donation through regular mail. South Muskoka Hospital Foundation values your continued support and dedication to ensuring our hospital provides the best care for our community. Please continue to check our social media and website for further updates and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. Email info@healthmuskoka.ca or phone (705) 645-4404 ext. 3193

#throwbackthursday Check out this Bracebridge ambulance from 1955 run by @hammondtransportation (Pictured is driver Ivan Beasley). While Hammond Transportation no longer runs an ambulance service they continue to be a wonderful supporter of the hospital. Last November they sponsored our “Night Out” event and provided safe transportation for our guests! #tbt #bracebridge #muskoka #hammondtransport
