Equipment Needs 2024/2025
Emergency Care Fund
Emergency health care delivery is one of the most active and demanding areas of any hospital, and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital is no exception.
In addition to supporting the Emergency Department (ED), funds will be used to purchase much needed equipment for other departments that support the ED, like our lab and diagnostic imaging departments. Six out of ten patients who come to the ED require additional testing, such as x-rays, other imaging modalities and lab work.
The South Muskoka Memorial Hospital has one of the busiest EDs in cottage country, seeing more than 22,000 patients a year. Those patient visits spike in the summertime, with approximately one quarter of annual visits occurring in July and August. A detailed list of equipment needs is provided above.
The Educational Assistance Awards are designed to assist deserving students, staff and hospital volunteers who reside in communities served by the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation and who wish to pursue education in the area of Health Science.
The Foundation offers Educational Assistance Awards recognizing volunteerism, academic achievement, and community leadership. The number and value of awards awarded each year will be at the discretion of the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation Board of Directors with recommendations from the Award Committee. Donate now to support staff and student education.
